A Favourite Part of What I Do
I work with clients of all types. Some have invested for years and understand the markets. They expect the unexpected and attempt to take advantage of irrationality. While they could invest on their own, they see value in working with an expert who has more time, knowledge, and resources at their disposal.
I also work with less experienced investors. Some may have recently sold their home, others received an inheritance, or some just find investing intimidating. They see the markets as an abyss, LIRAs, RESPs and TFSAs are more akin to Greek than their regular vernacular.
For these clients, but sometimes the experienced ones too, I help them become comfortable with investing. It doesn’t happen overnight; education is a process. But, it’s one of my favourite parts of what I do. Few things are as rewarding as helping someone understand a concept that has always eluded them - especially if it can enrich their lives.
And, it only requires two things. The ability to find the right way to explain it, and someone who cares enough to try.
